Parisiennes On Holiday

Our Chic & Slim Special Correspondent Kat reports that the Parisiennes are back in town. She has spotted a couple of chic examples. Kat wrote:

As easy to spot as the 75 number plates on their cars. They are chicer and always much, much slimmer than their local counterparts, and I have yet to see a Parisienne in shorts and a sleeveless top! I’m sure they do wear them around the house or in their gardens, but not on the street or in the shops.

The two I managed to snap were probably in their fifties, in wonderful shape, without being too thin (you do sometimes see too thin at a certain age in Paris, it is usually wearing a Chanel or Chanel style jacket and it isn’t pretty!). I particularly liked the swept up hair, practical as well as smart in warm weather.

The print leggings deserve a comment. They locals love them, you see them everywhere: floral, paisley, whirls, squiggles, there’s no end to the variety. I think they are hideous, they show up every bulge, and make every bottom look bigger than it is. But this Parisienne has chosen a classic leopard print, in a sturdy fabric which does not stretch so much that the pattern is distorted. And of course she has no bulges to reveal…

Anne Note: I suspect that the dress the woman below is wearing is likely closer to the pink of her sandals than the bright color you see on your screen. Likely the shop lighting is creating a color cast in the photo. I tried to remove the cast with photo imaging softwear, but no luck. Don't you love that chic bun on the back of her head?
